Having Kirk go out of town, especially foreign, is the pits. It was fun to blog for each other everyday last July when he was in London for two weeks. I wasn't sure about "blogging" that Kirk was out of town this trip because I am home and don't want any creepers ruining my peaceful week. But it's out there, so if you are a creeper don't bother of us, deal? Alright now that is covered...
When Kirk is foreign it's super hard to communicate. We might get a 15 minute conversation in during the day, but between the time difference and the fact that his iphone doesn't work foreign it makes it hard. So these blog posts are really fun for us to keep tabs on all the extra stuff that happens during each others day. Sorry you all have to suffer through it. :)
Dear Kirk
I am so relieved you are in Singapore safely. Thank you for not checking out the hospital in Korea, I really appreciate it! Your room looks super nice. I sure wish the girls and I were there to enjoy it with you. We could spend our days at the resort pool and checking out the local scene. I hope your training today (or technically tomorrow since it's Monday already for you) went really well and that your ankle is feeling better.
We have done pretty great the past two days. The girls miss you. All day yesterday Audrey kept asking about you until I finally showed her the pageonce app where she could see where your plane was. She checked it probably 30 times yesterday. When Sarah stopped by yesterday Audrey told her "my daddy gone far away" then whipped out my phone to show her exactly where your plane was, it was really cute!
Yesterday morning as Audrey laid in bed with me I asked her what she wanted to do during the day. She responded that she wanted to go to the park. We planned to eat breakfast then ride their bikes to the park...but then Audrey came up with a fabulous plan to have breakfast at the park. The girls packed their own breakfast (gogurts, bread, and coco) and I cut up some cantaloupe for good measure. We spent the morning at the park...the weather was perfect and it was super fun.We came home and did puzzles, whammy (which is still all over the house, grr), and read books. We popped some popcorn and had just settled down to watch the Barbie Mermaid movie (again!) when Sarah showed up. The kids played well and Sarah and I had a great time chatting. After they left we quickly showered and got ready to meet with Holli. We met Colleen and Holli at Agave. Its a Mexican restaurant over by Redrock Casino. It was a super fun and delicious, will be you shocked if I tell you I ordered pork tacos? We had a quiet evening at home where we finally got to finish the Barbie Mermaid movie. And the girls where in bed by 8, are you impressed?!
We had a nice quiet Sunday morning here. Talking to you in the middle of the night was not good for my pregnant body and I had a hard time pulling myself out of bed at 6:30 when our girls climbed in our bed. After reading books (chicka chicka...) and breakfast we did baths. Then we painted finger and toenails. The girls both picked blue...even Kirsten! As I was painting Audrey's nails she said, ever so sweetly "mommy miss daddy?" it was so cute. Out of the 50 nails I painted I was the one that got nail polish on our bed sheets...ugh! The girls are so cute. We had a nice teaching moment with Audrey about screaming verses using words...she spent 45 minutes crying on the bathroom rug but I think she finally got the point...lets hope.
The girls were so restless at church...I didn't realize how much help you are until you aren't there to help! By the time sacrament meeting was over, the girls had gone to the bathroom and were in class, and I had gotten all the nurseries opened I was pooped and was dreading singing time. But I had energy show up from somewhere and got through it. After church Audrey immediately went to bed with her "green cup." I helped Kirsten finish her coloring page from sunbeams. And then sleep. All 3 of us slept 2 hours... it was fantastic! We had popcorn for dinner and watched the barbie mermaid movie...again. I talked to my parents (they are doing good, thanks for asking). We cleaned up and the girls went to bed. They each had to have their "big kiss and little kiss." Audrey giggled her giggle you love and it made me think of you. We miss you...terribly. I love you and look forward to waking you up in the middle of the night :)
