Today we got to see our baby boy! My "reward" for surviving two weeks without Kirk was getting an early ultrasound to find out what our baby was. We felt like it was a boy but it sure is nice to know for sure. We took the girls with us to see the baby and they were so excited all morning to go. They were so disappointed when we stopped at Jimmy John's for lunch first. Kirsten was so excited she said "see the baby, go to the park, go swimming, go trick or treating, and have a tea party!" Ha ha it was an exciting day! We finally go to see our little guy but he was a stubborn little man. He was shy and not only had his legs crossed but also the cord in between his legs. We tried for almost 20 minutes to get him to show off. I did some jumping jacks and dancing around to get him to move. At the last minute he finally, reluctantly, uncrossed his legs. There was no doubt about it Kirk won't be the only man for long! We are thrilled! Audrey kept saying "a boy! a boy" a boy!" It was awesome to see his little arms and legs moving, waving, stretching...he was just so dang cute.
It was super fun telling everyone. I had the girls tell a couple people and Kirsten kept saying the baby was a "girl" (she's such a tease) and then she also said "baby's coming" instead of saying it was a boy. The girls kept talking about wanting to see the baby in their bellies all day. This evening Kirsten looked over at me and said "baby come out of your mouth and hurt your tongue?" It was too funny, the things the kids think of. I sure am glad the baby isn't coming out of my mouth, sounds painful!
Anyway we are all full of excitement here. And Kirk is ecstatic. He turned to me this evening and said "I'm so happy we are having a boy!"
