Soccer Star

This spring we signed Kirsten up for soccer. It is a program called e-soccer and half the team has special needs and the other half of the team are regular kids. The 8 week program was free all we had to do was buy the shirt. Each Saturday we went for an hour. The first half hour they would practice and do drills and the second half hour the teams would have a "game." As you can imagine this was incredibly fun to watch. Kirsten LOVED playing soccer; kicking the ball to the other kids, kicking the ball in the goal, running with the ball, she loved it all. Every time she would kick her ball in the goal she would step back, put her hands on her hips, stick her chest out, pose, and check to make sure we were watching. It was pretty adorable. Yep she loved practicing. But when it came to the game not so much. She couldn't figure out why there were so many kids and only one ball. Why would anyone want to play a game like that?! It took her a few weeks but she finally started playing in the games and when she would score a goal she would run over and give Kirk and huge hug and say "now we get icecream?" Bribery always works. It was a super fun season and we can't wait for the girls to play on the same team in the fall.
LOVE this picture...Audrey is wearing her "soccer socks" and "soccer shoes"
Her "I made a goal" stance
