Easter

We just got home from a fantastic vacation to Utah. My youngest brother Garrett and his wife just had their first baby, Rebekah. We couldn't resist the urge to go meet her so we canceled our plans to go to Kolob for Easter and high tailed it to Logan to meet "baby beba" as Audrey says.

Here are a few highlights from the trip:
1. It is an 8 hour drive from Vegas to Logan. 8 very long hours. We can't seem to travel from Vegas to Utah without stopping at McDonald's in Cedar City, the perfect place for a prenap energy let out.
2. We also stopped at Cove Fort on the way up. Kirk had never been there before and I hadn't been there for at least 12 years. The girls saw it as the perfect opportunity to be dogs. So it was just Kirk, me, a missionary, and our two doggies taking a tour.

3. After a very frustrating 20 minutes between a tired Audrey and a tired Mommy we both finally fell asleep after a lot of tears and screaming on Audrey's part. 1 1/2 hour later when Audrey woke up Kirsten very proudly declared "Audrey Happy!"

4. We finally arrived in Logan to meet Rebekah. She is beautiful and perfect and I loved holding her. Audrey had a love/hate relationship with her. She loved Rebekah, giving her kisses, poking her, and patting her head. But Audrey was not such a fan me holding Rebekah, I love that Audrey still wants to be my baby!
5. Logan was stormy the few days we were there. Lightening, thunder, rain, rainbows...everything Las Vegas lacks. Audrey loved that she could wear her coat.

6. Wednesday and Thursday night we stayed with Chelsey and Cody, slumber party style. The girls were so happy to hang out with Chelsey. They must have mentioned her name a 100 times on the drive up. At one point we asked Kirsten if she wanted to go find her Easter basket to which she responded "no." So then we asked her if she wanted to go get some candy, again "no." Then we asked her if she wanted to go see Chelsey and she finally agreed "Yes!" We love our Telly!
7. Kirk and I were lucky enough to go on a dinner date with some of our friends. We met up with Mark & Camille and Tyson & Alison at Texas Roadhouse. Good food and great company we had a blast. The laughs continued at Tyson & Alison's house later where Alison had us laughing uncontrollably playing psychiatrist.
8. We had a blast learning to play NBA Jam with Brett and my Dad. Lots of laughs, and it didn't hurt that I beat Kirk and Brett twice!
9. The girls played awesome together the entire trip.
10. Friday and Saturday night Josh got us a screaming deal at a nice hotel. We had a blast swimming together. 14 Brinkerhoff's in a pool is always a party! The girls were so cute sleeping together in the hotel bed.
11. Saturday was Easter picnic time. Kirsten loved being with Abby and Allie, they make her feel so loved and special! She adores her beautiful cousins!
12. Audrey was thrilled to find crocs in her Easter basket and put them on immediately!
13. We played some awesome games including red rover, it was fantastic!

14. 7 of my 9 brothers and sisters were there. It was wonderful to be with family.
15. Hunting for Easter eggs! Grandpa helped Audrey score big and Kirsten allowed Kirk to follow her around, ha ha.
16. We had a blast playing egg drop.
17. Feeding ducks!
18. Sweet baby Rebekah, definitely worth the trip!
19. After our fun Easter picnic the girls went back to the hotel to play games. The guys went shooting (and now Kirk wants to buy a gun). Allie and Kirsten fell asleep on the couch, so cute!
20. We all enjoyed plenty of Easter candy on the way home
Happy Easter!

Sweet girls

These two are quickly becoming the best of friends.
This morning I went to put the girls in the bath tub only to find Kirsten had already turned on the water just like I would, hot water all the way on and cold water half way on
(not cold water all the way on and hot water half way the way she likes it).
Then Kirsten climbed into the tub and and helped Audrey in
(more like pulled her in but it was still cute).
Then during the bath she found a brush and sat behind Audrey and brushed her hair for a few minutes.
They are simply the most adorable people I know.
And I love being their mother.

Saturdays are our Favorite Day

We love Saturdays at this house. A whole day to hang out with Kirk is always a superb day! Yesterday was no exception. We woke up early to organize and clean the garage. It looks fantastic and I have a reason to smile every time I walk through to throw away dirty diapers. Then we cleaned our car. Like shampooed clean. It looks beyond fantastic and smells fabulous. The girls washed their wagon too. All of our means of transportation are now gloriously clean. We celebrated by having lunch together sitting out on the patio. The weather was fantastic this weekend and we spent every second outside that we could. After lunch we high tailed it to the swimming pool for our first swim of the year. The water was perfect and we had a blast. I'm not sure anything could make our girls happier than waking up as mermaids tomorrow. They love love love swimming! The highlight of the pool was when Audrey was trying to avoid giving Kirk a kiss and put her face down only to have her face end up in the water, was she ever surprised and the look on her face kept Kirk and I laughing for awhile. We came home and took quick baths and all fell asleep for a nice 3 hour nap. I told you it was the perfect day. We finished the day off with Cafe Rio, yummy. I tried the tortilla soup for the first time and highly recommend it! Then a quick trip to Target. Could yesterday have been more perfect? I submit that it could not.
