Day 7 (Dec 12)
Our first day of parents of three was an easy success. I woke up feeling great, we cleaned up the house, Kirsten went to music class, we watched a few movies and just had a great day. Sara came and visited and kind friends brought us dinner. We feel so blessed to have such wonderful people in our lives. Timothy had a busy day and managed to go through 6 outfits in one day. It seemed we would just get him changed and fed and suddenly he was leaking (profusely) from one end or the other. Good thing I love doing laundry, ha ha. We watched the grinch before going to bed but the girls crowded around me and Timothy stroking his face, letting him grab their fingers, announcing that "he was awake", and "oh he touched me", "he loves me." They were far more interested in him than the movie and it made me smile with joy. I quite love having 3 kiddos. And to top off the night Audrey asked "mommy, can we have another baby?"

Day 6 (Dec 11)
Timothy is a rockstar and sleeps well during the night, I'm only up once with him for about half an hour. I really shouldn't be as tired as I am. I'm getting more sleep than I did when I was pregnant but somehow I'm still exhausted. Tuesday morning Kirk took my mom and the girls to "the new park" so I could stay home and get some rest. I told them I wasn't tired but they insisted, well it turns out I was able to sleep an hour and a half...mother is always right. We took Timothy to his first doctors appointment and were glad to have it over with. Kirsten stayed home from school and Kirk took the girls out on the town for a date while my mom and I stayed home and had a nice heart to heart. We have loved having my mom in our home. She has been so good to us cooking, cleaning, giving us gifts, and taking good care of my girls. My girls haven't wanted to leave Grandma's side and insists she dances, plays go fish, and do everything else they like to do with them. As they were going to bed Grandma asked them for a last hug and kiss (since her flight was early) and Audrey cried out "NO, stay until after Christmas!" We certainly are grateful she came and stayed a week with us.

Day 5 (Dec 10)
Monday Timothy and I left the house for the first time. We went and got his pictures taken by my talented friend Kashina. We both came home exhausted and didn't do much the rest of the day. The best part of having a c-section is having to take it easy and doing nothing but snuggling my baby for the first week of his life.

Day 4 (Dec 9)
Sunday was a nice relaxing day. Timothy slept 6 hours and I finally had to wake him because I needed him to eat! Derik, Liz, and Karen came and said goodbye and gave him one last squeeze. Kirk and my mom took the girls to church. A few of my sweet friends (Kashina, Sarah, and Emily) stopped by to give my little man snuggles. Audrey couldn't stand to be away from her brother for very long. At one point I found her putting a sticker from her chapstick on his face...oh boy let the torture begin. Every time she holds him she touches all over his face, snuggles her face to his and says (in a high pitched voice) "my baby my baby my baby oh you're soo cute." She's really sweet with him. Kirsten likes to hold him...for about thirty seconds then declares that she's "done." He eats and sleeps like a champ. At night we swaddle him up and give him his binky and he is good to go! He is such a great baby we really lucked out!

Welcoming Timothy
Pictures tell a story better than words (even though I've already been really wordy). I will always treasure these pictures from the hospital.
