We had a fun weekend full of family time and fall fun.
Friday morning the girls and I went on a walk with friends. It was a freezing 50 degrees outside so we had to break out our winter stuff. Aren't they cute?
Later Kirsten dressed up in her new favorite outfit and proclaimed herself a teacher. I'm not so sure what her teacher is wearing at school...
Friday night Kirk took all of his ladies out for ice cream after dinner. We aren't sure who taught Audrey how to eat an ice cream cone...(watch the video). The girls then played on the burger king playground. The only reason I mention it was because Audrey had a hard time going up the huge steps and Kirsten was so cute to help her, she would stand below her and grab Audrey by the behind and hoist her up. Kirk and I were proud parents!
After a Saturday morning full of bountiful baskets, grocery shopping, baking muffins, bread, and a pie we were ready for some fun. We took the girls to one of the little fall carnivals set up randomly throughout Vegas. The girls LOVED it! If you are looking for a way to blow $20 in 45 minutes this is perfect for you! They loved the slide, bouncy house, swings, twirly swings (which Kirk and I were brave enough to go on too), and picking out their own pumpkin.
Saturday night our stake put on the most awesome fall carnival. (Yes we did two carnivals in one day, we are awesome like that). It was seriously fantastic and impressive in every way possible. Everything was completely free and fun fun fun! The girls loved the big blow up slide, cotton candy, duck pond (where they won snakes!), and face painting! Kirsten requested a mermaid and that is what she got. It was so cute! She came home and immediately went to the mirror and checked out her mermaid, grinning. Then like 5 minutes later she wiped it off with a dish towel saying "I don't want it" then she took the dish towel over to Audrey and wiped hers off too.
This afternoon we took the girls to the mountain edge hill to climb up for a little Sunday fresh air outing. The girls hiked up the hill entirely by themselves. Kirk and I were proud parents (even though we got a few dirty looks from people who clearly did not have kids). There are some seriously steep parts and loose gravel. Audrey fell three times but got up each time and kept hiking. Kirsten pulled Kirk up the hill. Kirk and I have awesome kids. period.
What a fun weekend and what adorable girls! I love the picture of them sitting on the pumpkins, especially Kirsten's face!
ReplyDeleteSounds like the perfect fall weekend. Such cute stories and pictures (and video of the ice cream cone eating attempts)! I love that your girls ambitiously took on those hills in princess regalia.
