Blue Cast

Last Tuesday we took Audrey in to get her cast on. She hates being at doctors' offices because they seem way to boring for her, so it is always a treat to take her (ha ha). She was delighted to get her splint off but not so happy about them putting a cast on. All day we discussed what color her cast should be. She had it narrowed down to blue, purple, yellow, or green. The doctor assumed she wanted pink but when they tried to put it on Audrey refused and insisted that she get a blue cast instead. I like it because it matches her eyes. Kirsten was super jealous of Audrey's cast and kept asking for her pink one, I assured her we could make her a much less expensive cast at home. The white lining around her cast was only white until we got out of the building, it was black by the time we got to the car. We can do anything for 4 weeks right? I took the girls to the park that night and it was not a good idea. Audrey insisted on doing everything she did before but just simply couldn't, well at least not safely. Bathing is also not fun, we haven't succeeded in keeping it dry yet. But on the up side she is getting really good at eating with her left hand :)

Since she broke her arm she also fell off the recliner and got a black eye. Fell into play equipment at the park and bruised up her cheek. Scraped her foot which now has a big scab on it. Fell off her bed and ended up with a bloody lip. Also she trips multiple times a day and always lands on her cast. Kirk and I are feeling like we are terrible parents. Keep Audrey in your prayers throughout the month of October, her health depends on it!
