Kirsten's First Birthday!

Yesterday Kirsten turned 1!
We had a fantastic day...with lots of friends, family, and balloons
(the key to any successful party)
Kirk and I made this cute cake for Kirsten
it is delicious
and there is plenty left, so come have a piece!

That evening Riley, Aaron and their families came over for dinner
Kirsten's favorite part was playing in her room with her cousinsFinally it was time for her birthday cake
I stripped her down expecting her to go to town on her cake

eventually she grabbed a handful
We ended up giving her the top layer to
play in
because she never even tasted any of the cake
She did decorate her balloons in frosting thoughand finally tasted
her balloonthis is as messy as she got
before she insisted on playing with her cousinsKirsten's cousins who live close by
