Brinkerhoff Reunion

This past weekend was my Dad's families' reunion in Glendale Utah. (Can I just take a second and say how beautiful Utah is? It is so green compared to Vegas! I could go on but I won't). On the way their we went through the Coral Pink Sanddunes, which was really cool. We had fun camping and seeing family. Kirsten got to see cows, horses, sheep, and chickens. She was so excited! Who knew all the animals she see's in books are actually real! She just kept saying "it's a moo" after we saw our first herd of cows. Kirsten would love to live on a farm. Kirk and I took the girls on a little walk where we saw most of the farm animals and picked wild flowers. Towards the end of the walk Kirsten walked up to each of us and gave us big hugs letting us know this was the perfect day.

We also had to say goodbye to Chelsey and it about broke our hearts.
We already miss her like crazy!

In case you didn't get enough mountain pictures last time

We went back to the mountain again on Saturday. We literally can't get enough. We found this grassy field to soak up the sun while breathing in the smell of pine and wildflowers, while Audrey ate sticks and Kirsten hunted bugs and played in the dirt. This green grassy field (that was almost too good to be true) was against a beautiful mountain range. The whole time we were there I felt like singing songs from the Sound of Music.

11 months!

Audrey is busier than Santa at Christmas. She is always on the move, always something to do. She is crawling everywhere and is so close to walking. She can take a couple steps between us. She has mastered crawling up the stairs by herself and knows the best way to get attention is to crawl over to the stairs. In fact her favorite thing to do is to crawl over and sit on the bottom stair just waiting for one of us to run and grab her, she waits patiently with a big grin on her face. She still likes to play bashful and will always turn her head a blush when people smile directly at her. When she gets frustrated so covers both ears with her hands or she dramatically flails her body onto the ground (and then stares us down until we come and pick her up). She has started to kiss us, big open mouth kisses. She is one energetic, funny, adorable little girl!

Disciplined by a two year

My sister Chelsey wrote the cutest blog post about Kirsten on her blog (here). They have had a lot of fun together this summer, but last night was the best. I threw an empty two liter sprite bottle to Chelsey but it bounced off of her and hit Kirsten in the head. Kirsten demanded Chelsey give her kisses and tell her sorry. So Chelsey kisses her and say's she sorry, then Kirsten pointed her finger to the corner and told Chelsey she needed to go to the corner. Kirsten leads 18 year old Chelsey to the corner and then goes back to play with her princess's. Kirk and I are just cracking up! We finally told Kirsten to go get Chelsey out of the corner. Kirsten told Chelsey "don't do it again" and made Chelsey give her another kiss and went happily back to her dolls. It was hilarious and had us laughing for quite a while.
