ZZZIIIIOOOONNNNN!!!!

Over the weekend we went to Zion with a couple of our good friends Brenna and Dione and their families. We got there just in time for dinner Friday night. We stayed in some cute little cabins and the girls had a blast playing on the bunk bed. After dinner we headed to the swimming pool where Dione, Brenna, and I proved we are still cool and went down the waterslide into the freezing pool (it was all outdoors and remember it's November)! After some hot tubing we put the kids to bed and made a camp fire. It was so fun to be together.
After a yummy breakfast Saturday Jade and Kirsten were throwing rocks and wanted water to throw them into. Kirk pointed to a sewer pond and told the girls to go throw them in there. Being two year old's they took him literally and had a cute little hike down there together. We went hiking in Zion and quickly realized not all the trails are kid friendly (aka it took us 3 hours to go a mile). But we had a lot of fun being somewhere beautiful and spending time together. After Zions we went back to the cabins and had dinner together. It was a great weekend.

Tiny Tot Sport

For 6 weeks Kirsten took a tiny tot sport class with a couple kids from our ward. It was really cute, every week they learned a different sport kick ball, soccer, baseball, hockey, and tumbling. She loved running up and down the gym and playing with the balls and equipment, but when it came to the actual sport she wasn't so into it. Except for tumbling, she loved loved loved tumbling. I think we will enroll her in a tumbling class next and a dance class after she turns 3 (since all she wants to do is dance). Her are a couple pictures of the fun we had on tumbling day.

Happy Kirk is Home

Kirk is home! I have never missed him so badly. There happened to be alot of "stuff" that went on while he was gone and I am I so glad he is back home with us. He flew in this morning around 9:30 and was able to work from home and spend the day with us (definition of working from home: laptop next to him while he played with the kids outside while I went and got my eyebrows done)! Kirsten was stuck to him like glue. Everywhere he went she was not more than 10 feet behind him. Asking him "how are you" repeatedly and giving him lots of kisses (and she didn't call him Kirk once today, just to stay on his good side). This trip I explained to her that Kirk was on an airplane. Every airplane we have seen the past couple days she says "daddy airplane". Tonight when Kirk was half an hour late coming home from scouts I asked "where's daddy?" she replied "daddy airplane" and I told her no he was at scouts "oh scouts" she says. When he got home she ran and gave him kisses and asked "daddy car scouts?" totally relieved that Kirk took a car and not an airplane :)

Scene: Kirk waiting at the terminal this morning at a airport in New York
Man (in his 40s): "is this the flight to Vegas?"
Kirk: "Yes"
Man: "This your first trip to Vegas?
Kirk: "No, I live there"
Man (surprised): "You actually LIVE in Vegas?"
Kirk: "Yep!"
Man: "do you gamble?"
Kirk: "no"
Man: "You live in Vegas and don't gamble? What do you do?"
Kirk: "work for a software company"
Man: "And you don't gamble?"
Kirk: "nope"
Man: "You realize that is what Vegas is for, right?"

Living in Vegas has it's perks when it comes to Kirk's travel. 95% of the time he can find a flight to Vegas the same night his training ends, because there is always a flight to Vegas. Also he has been known to receive hotel upgrades if he mentions he is from Vegas. Maybe people think Vegas is cool or maybe it is his charm and dashing good looks (on second thought you are right there really is no debate here).

I love you Kirk. Thank you for coming home! (wink)*

*not a dirty wink either, Chelsey, a remember how I said the same thing earlier in the day and Kirk thought I was dorky wink
